Mission & Vision Statement

The Children’s Commission was founded to facilitate the development of happy, healthy children by maximizing resources through advocacy, effective education, coordination and planning of services for all children.

Tragically, it is estimated that three children die each day in this nation as a result of child abuse and neglect. Every day thousands of children suffer both physical and emotional abuse. Often times this abuse is suffered at the hands of people who are supposed to care for them the most; members of their own family, an unmarried parent’s partner, or a caregiver.

We believe that child abuse could cease to exist if everyone had the capability to receive accurate information about abuse and then had the capacity to receive assistance and support to change.

In an effort to make that happen, we work together to provide crisis intervention, information and referral services for those who are having issues around child abuse, neglect, or domestic violence.

Our hope is to get victims on their healing journey by helping them to understand and be aware of the factors and contributors of violence as well as how to break the cycle of abuse.
